Essay Writing: Writer’s Checklist Introduction: Is the main idea (i.e., the writer’s opinion of the story title) stated clearly? Is the introductory paragraph interesting? Does it make the reader want to keep on reading? If the essay title is in the form of a question - this might seem obvious - answer the question. Although it seems like an obvious point, I've read many essays where student simply don't answer the question.
